Week 8 - There is no W in Llama...

But there are 2 L's and I think they might stand for Loveable Losers. Does everybody remember a few weeks back when this was supposed to be The Year of the Llama. We stood at 14-7 and looked primed for a title run. Since then, over the last 5 weeks, we are an unthinkable 6 and 29 which includes the 0-7 from this week and it was UGLY!! Brick had a grand idea to switch our seats at the beginning of the night to try and change our luck. Probably doesn't sound like a big deal but we have sat in the same chairs for at least the last 3, 4, 5 years. So we all felt like a fish out of water, except Brick, who of course sat in his new seat with a big grin on his face and a small boner in his pants, much like the guy to the right(Sorry Sheila). I'm not going to put all the blame on our new seating arrangement but I think it is the first time we all bowled under average in the same game this year which lead to an over 200 pin defeat. Ryan just avoided the skirt with an ugly 133, which included 5 splits. Brandon shot 142, Kevin 153, Tom, 180, and Brick 184. After that we decided to move back to our original seats. Unfortunately the more things change the more they stay the same and our beat down continued. Brandon at least decided to show up for this game with a solid 211. Ryan again was pathetic with a 150 which included 4 splits. Kevin 170, Tom 149, and Brick 203 were all under average again as well. The third game continued the onslaught. This time only Ryan was over average with a 203 and the other were under Tom 180, Kevin, 168, Brandon 166, and Brick 178. As I told you all of that nonsense added up to 0-7. No Llamas on the night, only 2 out of 15 individual games over average, no skirts...just an overall crappy night. These are the weeks that are tough to write about; nothing good to get excited about and nothing bad enough to really make fun of. Maybe the night we will be remembered in Llama Chaser history as the night we hit rock bottom and then never lost again. There really is no where to go but up from here. The crappy night continued over into the bar. Each night after bowling we go into the alley bar for a night cap, play a little keno, then go home. Well Kevin had an excused absence and Brandon sort of did too but Brick did not. You ever play a game of pick-up basketball and the one kid who has brought the ball starts to whine and then says "I'm taking my ball and going home." That's sort of what Brick did. He wasn't happy with how he bowled so he got in some pissy mood and went home. If Tom or I acted that way after we bowled bad we would never be at the bar but we suck it up and get together for the team. Remember Brick, just as there is no W in Llama, there is no I in team. In closing, after 9 plus year of losing who knows maybe like the Cubs, or the Bad News Bears, or any Cleveland team, maybe just maybe the Llama Chasers will forever just be loveable losers, I hope not, but maybe it's our destiny.

  1. thats not what happened at all. you knew i was hurting and tired for not sleeping. maybe if you got this recap done earlier in the week your memory would be a little fresher. i didnt know insmomnia and searing pain werent on your gay list of excused absences. kind of bothers me you wrote that bullshit. maybe instead of keno you should throw a couple of extra games to try and get better. 2. Nathan lets look at this from my point of view. Lets take the last year of bowling and say there are 40 weeks. I would guess at least 38 of those weeks you mentioned how tired you were and at least 35 of those weeks you mentioned how something on you hurt. I don't even think you would argue with this. So now this week you bowled bad and went home; from my point of view it looks like you went home because you bowled bad. Maybe you were more tired and hurt this past week then in weeks past but I am not a doctor so I personally wouldn't know. I just call 'em like a see 'em. If my super awesome recaps "kind of bother" you I would simply say deal with it. I have said much, much worse about Tom and he laughs it off. If I have to worry about offending my fellow teammates I may as well stop writing these recaps. You can take them over on get them done "on time".
