Week 6 - "The Climb"

Before you read the week 6 review please watch the video. While watching when Miley Cyrus is riding the horse I ask that you imagine it is a Llama and while she keeps looking in the sky throughout the video I want you to imagine our llama, Geppetto, up there floating next to a bowling trophy. Thanks. Enjoy.

I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"

That is right Llama Chaser Nation I’m quoting Miley Cyrus to define the current state of the Llama Chasers and even more specifically my(Ryan) current play. With plans for a Llama Chaser championship this season and for Ryan to achieve a career high average Miley Cyrus has done an excellent job of summing up our current situation. Let’s continue…

Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

After a stellar 14-7 start to the season and a 190 average after week 3 for Ryan we could “almost see” that “dream I am dreaming” but the last 3 weeks has our faith shaking. Ryan's current play is certainly "lost with no direction" with 3 weeks in a row way under average.

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

The mountain this week came in the form of team “Sounds Good” with league president and annual top league bowler Moose. Sounds Good is always near the top of the standings with each bowler carrying an average around 200 or better. But game 1 we made “The Climb” with Brick throwing a sensational 234 and Tom with a stellar 246. Kevin and Ryan came along for the victory with a 154 and 171 respectively. But as Miley tells us its “gonna be an uphill battle” and we are “gonna have to lose” which is what we did in grand fashion game 2 by losing by over 200 pins which included all 4 Llama Chasers below average. Brick was in the ballpark with a 192 but the rest of us were way under. Game 3 Tom 204 and Brick 245 did their thing again but Ryan 154 and Kevin 158 did the team in which made us 2-5 on the night.

Just remember fans…

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It's all about, it's all about the climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, whoa

Don’t lose faith, we haven’t. We are going to keep showing up to the lanes and work to right this ship. Brandon comes back this week after a 2 week absence which will hopefully give us a lift. Let's all enjoy "The Climb".
