2009-10 Week 28

I'm sure we have all seen the movie "Top Gun" and while I could spend hours on how good Tom Cruise looks with his shirt off in the beach volleyball scene that is not what I want to focus on. I could also spend hours on how Kelly McGillis was considered hot back then and what a train wreck she is now but again that is not the focus of this recap. I want to focus on what a great wingman Maverick had in Goose, always by his side picking him up when need be. I often lay awake at night picturing myself as the "Maverick" for LlamaChasers.com, writing masterful recaps and really setting the web site apart from the thousands of bowling team web sites out there. Well this week I needed my "Goose", Tom, to pick me up. Each week I take the stats sheet home so I can write the recaps and reference our team’s scores. Well this week I somehow lost it, so I have put off writing the recap until Tom updates the web site and I can view them there and the write the recap. Well as I am sure we have all noticed Tom is no Goose, he is more like "Charlie" played by Kelly McGillis. We all thought Tom was "hot" when he started this web site and now we all see him as the beat up old lesbian Kelly McGillis has become. Of course Tom decided not to update stats this week and has left me hanging so I will make do with what I remember. Speaking of lesbians, Tom was playing the part. After bowling an embarrassing 121 he was nice enough to put on the pink skirt. I will say he still looked better than McGillis does now. Brick continued his masterful season and once again bowled over his average series. He has bowled over his average series in 8 of the last 9 weeks and continues to raise his career high average currently at 203. Rob had another solid week, bowled over his average and raised his average to 130. Brick and Rob were the 2 bright spots and Tom, Ryan, and Kevin all struggled and finished below average. The second half of horrors continues and we lost all 7. Only a few more weeks left. I am going to ask a favor from Llama Chaser Nation this week, can you each please e-mail Tom at tmalatesta@gmail.com and let him know how disappointed you are in him. Not just for this week but for his lack of dedication all year, only updating the web site when he can squeeze it in. Wouldn't it be nice if Tom cared about the web site as much as we all do? So please just drop him a quick e-mail and let him know we need "Goose" back. Whoa!!!!! Just as I was about to e-mail this story in I thought about the past week to think if I was missing anything and my disappointment in Tom almost made me forget about Brick's amazing performance and one of the best performances in Llama Chaser history. Brick started the first game with 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 strikes in a row our as known throughout the bowling community a Double Llama, he left a solid 10 pin in the 9th frame and finished with a 267. Then the second game started and is was déjà vu all over again 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 strikes in a row to start the game and finishing with a 257. In the 3rd game the pressure of carrying an entire team finally caught up with him and he bowled a 184. So that gave Brick his second 700 series on the year with a 708. I have failed to mention on the recaps in the past that Brick has earned the name the "Llama King" with now over 35 Llamas on the year (a Llama Chaser record). It is certainly expected if you run into Brick you bow before him and let out a hearty "mmmmbbbbaaahhhh." Congrats to the Llama King on an amazing week and stellar season. As always please check out llamachasers.com and sign the guest book.
