Week 30 - Cinderella

According to Wikipedia the word "cinderella" has, by analogy, come to mean one whose attributes are unrecognised, or one who unexpectedly achieves recognition or success after a period of obscurity and neglect.

Well Llama Chaser Nation you have neglected Brandon long enough. The glass slipper, or should I say, black polka dot skirt was a perfect fit. As you can see from the photo, he was glowing.

This story started out much different than the real "Cinderella". As you may remember in the movie Cinderella had to put up with her evil step-mother and step-sisters. They treated her horribly, on the night of the ball Cinderella assisted them and dreamed of going to the dance, they taunted her by saying a maid could never attend a ball. Well in the Llama Chaser's version of Cinderella, Brandon plays the part of an evil step-sister, mocking the rest of us who have worn the skirt multiple times. He would often laugh at Brick, making him feel worthless, saying "I will never wear the skirt, I will never bowl that bad, I can't believe you have worn it five times."

But on this night things were different. Needing only a mark in the 10th frame to avoid the skirt Brandon's magic had run out or should I say it just began. The evil Brandon slipped on the skirt and became a beautiful princess, a smile like I have never seen appeared on his face. You could tell the whole "I'll never wear the skirt" act, was just that, an act. This big, strong military man was now free, he was now himself!

The moral of "Cinderella" is that beauty is a treasure, but graciousness is priceless. Without it, nothing is possible; with it, one can do anything.

The moral of the "Llama Chasers Cinderella" is, quite simply, Brandon likes to wear skirts.

Brandon bowled a 140 first game, then with the skirt on in game 2 bowled a llama and finished with a 204, then he took the skirt off and bowled a 176.

You are probably wondering how we did as a team. Well Brandon, Brick, and Tom were all under average in Game 1. Ryan was over with a 193 and we lost game 1. But much like last week we decided it was time just yet to put the dagger into "The Year of the Llama".

There is still hope. Tom and Brick went off in game 2. Tom had an Ultra Llama(7 in a row) and rolled an impressive 236. Brick dropped in a Llama for a 226. Then in game 3 Brick circa 2010 was back. He started with a spare and followed that with a Double Llame(8 strikes in a row) and bowled a beautiful 266 and carried us to victory.

You notice I didn't mention the douchebag Kevin's name because of course he wasn't there. Choosing work over a bowling championship, it's sad.

Kevin, which of these would you rather have? The choice it rather simple.

We went 5-2 on the night and now stand at 53-38 with just a few weeks left. The first place team, Focus, is on fire. Our only hope is that we continue to bowl well and they start to lose. Any fans in Llama Chaser Nation that would like to come up to Freeway Lanes and taunt them would be much appreciated.

See you tonight at 6:30!!!
