Week 5 - Ridin' Dirty

I know we can all relate too Chamillionaire's song "Ridin Dirty", in case you forget how it goes watch the video or I included some of the lyrics below.

They see me bowling
They hatin
Patrolling they tryin to catch me ridin dirty

Tryin to catch me ridin dirty

Tryin to catch me ridin dirty

Tryin to catch me ridin dirty

Tryin to catch me ridin dirty

My music so loud

I'm swangin

They hopin that they gon catch me ridin dirty

Tryin to catch me ridin dirty

Tryin to catch me ridin dirty

Tryin to catch me ridin dirty

Tryin to catch me ridin dirty

In case you are not hip to what Chamillionaire is telling you, well google it because I'm not sure either, but when it comes to our bowling team I know exactly what a brother is talking about. You remember last week I told you about Mr. Clean and how what we really shoot for each week are clean games, a game in which you have no opens.

Well this week the team we were bowling, led by C-Note(yes, that was his name on our bowling sheet), were trying to catch us "Ridin' Dirty" which in this case means leaving a lot of opens.

In the first game Tom, Ryan, and Brick had as many or more opens then they had in all 3 games last week. That being said Tom still rolled a very strong 214 which included finishing with a llama. Ryan also started off well at 201 as did Kevin with a 186. Brandon cruised over average with a 178 and Brick chipped in with a 180. This all added up to a game 1 victory, C-Note was "patrollin" and "hatin" but he wasn't able to "catch us ridin dirty".

But starting game 2 things did get dirty. We had 16 opens as a team and not one of us bowled over average. Plus C-Note's team started rolling rather well and they had nice rooting section cheering on each strike. I wish I could describe it but you can of have to be there to appreciate it. I kind of enjoyed the rowdy group but one or two other Llamas were kind of put off by it. I even tried to recruit one young lady to cheer for us each week but she seemed rather committed to C-Notes crew, not even the offer of the pink skirt could make here change sides.

Game 3 we continued "Ridin' Dirty" with 15 opens, the only bright spot being Brick with a 219. It all added up to a very disappointing 2-5 on the night and we are now 14-21 on the year.

My favorite story from the week comes from Brandon. He came into the night with a stellar 165 average and bowled 178, 164, 158. He was very upset with himself all night, saying how he can't find his line or just how lost he was out there. I kept letting him know he was given us more than we expect out of the guy with a 165 average. The bad part is we play a little skins game and thought the money pushed until next week because Brandon only had 1 game over average which tied everyone else. We failed to realize(until we ran some numbers in the bar) that he actually bowled over average on the night with a 166 average and won the pot. The good news is it turned Brandons frown upside down. The moral of the story kids is: Sometimes its O.K. to suck.
